The District 181 Foundation enhances and enriches the educational experience in District 181 in a variety of ways, from financial support for individual students and teachers to put their ideas into action to District-wide initiatives that impact the entire curriculum.



teacher CREATIVITY grants

District 181 educators can put their ideas for improving student learning into action.  Individual teachers can apply for up to $5000 to implement a new idea that, if successful, could become a resource for the entire District or act as a seed, pilot or model for other schools. Read More

Funding is provided to bring educational programs and experts to the community to educate and inform on topics in learning and parenting. Read More.

kids grants

District 181 Students may apply for grants of up to $150 to support their ideas for projects that improve the world around them.   Read More



special initiatives

The Foundation's special initiatives result in district-wide investments that enrich and enhance the curriculum.

We also fund opportunities for professional development for educators and organize and fund speakers and events focused on education and parenting that are open to the entire community.

inquiry grants

Training is provided for teachers on how to manage and facilitate inquiry-based learning in the classroom. Inquiry-based learning is an important component of the Next Generation Science Standards and the Common Core Curriculum.
